About the Author

Don Steele has been an accountant for over 30 years. He has owned and operated two different accounting business; first in Michigan and again in California.

After serving 3 years in the U.S. Army, Don married and drove a bus in Chicago until an accident caused him to become a paraplegic, confined to a wheelchair. So he could continue supporting his wife and 3 children, he went back to school to learn accounting. Accounting came easy to Don and he completed a 2 year accounting course in 9 months.

When he finished school he worked as an accountant for a short time, then started his own accounting business. The business was very successful, then disaster struck again. Don's wife died from cancer.

Don sold his business and moved  with his children to California. He went back to school to study Psychology. While at college he worked for the college as a accounting tutor for several years. After finishing school he volunteered time and continued tutoring accounting for several more years.

When he married his present wife Shirley, he started another accounting business  which they operate to this day.

While tutoring, Don realized that a number of students were having trouble learning  accounting. He decided to write "The Accounting Tutor" so he could reach more students, emphasizing what they must know and understand to do well learning accounting.

From the Author

Understanding basic accounting is the key to passing exams and avoid being among the 50% who drop accounting. During  my many years as a college accounting tutor this was proven again and again. The reason students drop out, is they get behind, due to not really understanding accounting. They try to memorize what they did rather than understanding what they should do.

This book was written with the accounting student in mind. After purchasing your text book, money is short.
